Tall bellflower is a biennial unlike the Eurasian bellflowers that are weedy perennials (clustered bellflower, C. glomerata, or creeping bellflower, C. rapunculoides). This plant must re-seed itself. Some loose, rich soil by parent plants will allow seedlings to establish on their own.
